Стаўрапігія

Стаўрапі́гія (грэч. σταυροπηγία, ад σταυρός — «крыж» + πήγνυμι — «устанавіць, паставіць, узняць», літ. «узняцце крыжа») — статус, які надаецца праваслаўным манастырам, лаўрам і брацтвам, а таксама саборам і духоўным школам, што робіць іх незалежнымі ад мясцовай епархіяльнай улады і падначаленымі непасрэдна патрыярху або сіноду. Літаральны пераклад «узняцце крыжа» паказвае на тое, што ў стаўрапігіяльных манастырах крыж уздымаўся патрыярхамі ўласнаручна.

У дзейным (ад 2000 года) Статуце РПЦ гаворыцца: «Стаўрапігіяльныя манастыры знаходзяцца пад начальніцкім наглядам і кананічным кіраваннем Патрыярха Маскоўскага і ўсяе Русі ці тых Сінадальных устаноў, якім Патрыярх Маскоўскі і ўсяе Русі дабраславіць такое назіранне і кіраванне»[1].
