Нацыянальная баскетбольная асацыяцыя, НБА (англ.: National Basketball Association, NBA) — мужчынская прафесійная баскетбольная ліга Паўночнай Амерыкі, у прыватнасці, ЗША і Канады. Уваходзіць у чацвёрку галоўных прафесійных спартыўных ліг Паўночнай Амерыкі, нароўні з НХЛ, МЛБ і НФЛ[1]. Была заснавана ў 1946 годзе як Баскетбольная асацыяцыя Амерыкі і, злучыўшыся з Нацыянальнай баскетбольнай лігай, была пераназвана ў Нацыянальную баскетбольную асацыяцыю.

На 2011 год у склад Асацыяцыі ўваходзяць 30 каманд, якія па геаграфічнай прыкмеце падзелены на Усходнюю і Заходнюю канферэнцыі, а кожная з канферэнцый, у сваю чаргу, падзелена на тры дывізіёны па пяць каманд. На працягу рэгулярнага сезона кожная з каманд праводзіць 82 матчы, па выніках якіх адбіраюцца ўдзельнікі плэй-оф. У плэй-оф каманды гуляюць па алімпійскай сістэме, да 4 перамог у сваёй канферэнцыі. Два чэмпіёны канферэнцый сустракаюцца паміж сабой у галоўным фінале, дзе і вызначаецца ўладальнік звання чэмпіёна НБА.

Прыбытак НБА ў 2010 годзе склаў 3,8 мільярда долараў, і, пры выдатках ледзь больш 3,6 мільярда долараў, аперацыйны прыбытак за год склаў 183 мільёны долараў, а паказчык рэнтабельнасці — 4,8 %[2]. Сярэдняя зарплата ігракоў у 2010 годзе склала 4,8 мільёна долараў у год — больш, чым у любой іншай спартыўнай лізе ў свеце[3].
