NGC 79, Yeni Baş Kataloqda qeydə alınmış qalaktikadır. Göy üzündə Andromeda bürcü istiqamətində yerləşir. E-S0 tipli qalaktikadır. Fransız astronomu Giyom Biqurdan tərəfindən 1884-cü ildə 30.48 sm (12 düymə) ölçülü refraktor vasitəsilə kəşf edilmişdir.[8]
