مقاطعة پارك كانت إحدى مقاطعات إقليم چيفيرسون الأمريكي غير القانوني الذي كان موجودًا من 28 نوفمبر 1859 حتى 28 فبراير 1861.

تاريخ

في يوليو 1858، تم اكتشاف الذهب على طول نهر ساوث بلات في مقاطعة أراباهو، إقليم كانساس . أدى هذا الاكتشاف إلى تعجيل حمى البحث عن الذهب في بايكس بيك . شعر العديد من سكان منطقة التعدين بالانفصال عن الحكومات الإقليمية النائية في كانساس ونبراسكا ، لذا صوتوا لتشكيل إقليم چيفيرسون الخاص بهم في 24 أكتوبر 1859. في 28 نوفمبر، نظمت الجمعية العامة لإقليم چيفيرسون 12 مقاطعة: مقاطعة أراباهو ، مقاطعة شايان ، مقاطعة إل باسو ، مقاطعة فاونتن ، مقاطعة هيلي ، مقاطعة جاكسون ، مقاطعة چيفيرسون ، مقاطعة ماونتن ، مقاطعة نورث ، مقاطعة پارك، مقاطعة ساراتوجا ، ومقاطعة سانت فرين . نص التشريع الذي أنشأ مقاطعة پارك على ما يلي:

يتم تحويل المنطقة الواقعة ضمن حدود ما يعرف بالحديقة الجنوبية إلى مقاطعة تسمى مقاطعة پارك.

تمت تسمية مقاطعة پارك على اسم ساوث بارك ، وكانت تشمل جزءًا كبيرًا مما يُعرف اليوم بمقاطعة پارك، كولورادو .

كانت المستوطنات الموجودة آنذاك في المقاطعة هي معسكرات التعدين الجديدة في: مدينة تاريال ، وچيفيرسون ، وهاملتون ، ومونتغمري ، وبوكسكين جو (لوريت).

لم تحصل أراضي چيفيرسون على موافقة فيدرالية، ولكن في 28 فبراير 1861، وقع الرئيس الأمريكي جيمس بوكانان على قانون ينظم إقليم كولورادو .[1] في الأول من نوفمبر عام 1861، نظمت الجمعية العامة لولاية كولورادو 17 مقاطعة، بما في ذلك مقاطعة پارك ، لتكون الإقليم الجديد لولاية كولورادو.

الانتخابات والمسؤولين المنتخبين

كان أول من تولى منصبًا رسميًا في مقاطعة پارك هو جورج دبليو باورز، الذي عينه الحاكم روبرت ويليامسون ستيل في ديسمبر 1859 كرئيس قضاة لمقاطعة پارك. كان من المقرر أن يظل في منصبه حتى إجراء أول انتخابات شعبية في المقاطعة في 2 يناير 1860.
