جيمس تيسو (بالفرنسية: James Tissot) و هو اسم مستعار لجاك جوزيف تيسو، اللى اتولد فى نانت 15 اكتوبر 1836 ومات فى 8 اغسطس 1902، هو رسام وكاتب فرنسي، قضى جزء من حياته فى انجلترا، حيث كان يعتبر كرسام المجتمع الراقى من العصر الفيكتورى.

الدراسة

بعد دراسته فى مدرسة الفنون الجميلة فى باريس، عمل معرض فى صالون سنة 1859. و بعد حرب 1870 وكومونة باريس، نقل للندن فى سنة 1871 حيث نجح ببراعة كرسام للأناقة الأنثوية لمجلة فانيتى فير.

بعد وفاة مراته «كاثلين نيوتن» فى سنة 1882، رجع باريس وعرضت لوحاته اللى تمثل صور نجاح الستات فى ظروف اجتماعيه مختلفة فى بيئتهم اليومية. من سنة 1888، اتجه الناحيه الدينيه ومن بعدين كرّس نفسه فى نهاية حياته لمواضيع الكتاب المقدس، واستقى فى فنه من الملاحظات اللى سجلها وقت سفره لفلسطين والقدس.
