I noticed you have done a lot of recent work on the American minitours. Right now I'm writing a page on local minitour player Geoffrey Sisk. I came across this Boston Globe article which has something of a schedule for the New England Pro Golf Tour in 2006. Thought it may be of some help.

Ok, please let me know when (or if) you start working on the NEPGT. It would be useful for me. In addition, here is another article about the tour. Looks like it was inaugurated in 2001.

Sorry to bombard you with all these pages but in my research for Sisk I also found a link for something called the North American Pro Golf Tour (NAPGT). I did not see this tour referenced in your minitour section; it may be of some use.

You noted in the your sandbox that the 1976 event was "cancelled." Your source is something called "WoPG 1997." Sorry but I don't know what this is. If you have any more information that would be helpful; I may put this information on the 1975–76 Southern Africa Tour page. And I almost certainly would add this info on the Natal Open page as the event ceased to exist after that year's cancellation.

Ok if you are capable of retrieving the relevant information that would be great. I suspect that that year's cancellation is related to the general cessation of the event so it could be quite valuable. If it is too much trouble, however, please don't bother.

As suspected, it was cancelled after the withdrawal of the title sponsor (Vavasseur International had been taken over), and the NGU couldn't find a replacement.[1]

Searched all over to try and find sources and info on what events took place in that year. Absolutely nothing outside of the Kirin Open which we already know of. It leads me to think did any events even take place outside of that one event?? Nothing on the newspaper archives, also tried using Korean news sources using translation but next to nothing. I don’t have McCormack's WoPG 2000 but I assume the only event he lists is the Kirin Open? I have WoPG 2000, but McCormack had stopped covering the old Asia Golf Circuit by then. The best I found was a source that said there were 6 tournaments (but that could easily be an error is it was a 1998–99 season). Anyway, as with previous seasons, it's probably safe to say the Kirin Open was the only tournament that mattered. wjematherplease leave a message...12:52, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20240301125200","author":"Wjemather","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Wjemather-20240301125200-Jimmymci234-20240301124200","replies":[]}}-->

Hi,
I am looking for some info on the BC Open and I see you have updated the page a lot. I want to know what the tournament record for a low round was. Is the the 62 Jay Delsing shot in 1985? Can you point me in the direction as to where you found all of your info and maybe I can dig deeper.

I am almost done with the Brae Burn Country Club page. However, there are some closing issues with the scorecard.
The biggest issues is with a set of tees on the main course. According to the Brae Burn website the main course has green tees as an intermediate set of tees. But on the USGA's website they seem to use white tees for this set. (Fwiw, this BlueGolf website only notes white tees too.) Are the green tees/white tees the same?
On the Highlands Course there are these combined handicaps. For example, on the 6th hole it is 17/18. Do you know what's up? I have never seen this before.
Thanks,

My view is that if we are going to include scorecards (and I don't see the encyclopedic value in having them for most courses) then we should only include the yardages and pars for the longest/championship tees (i.e. those that are notable); omitting things like handicap Stroke Indexes that are not encyclopedic. wjematherplease leave a message...12:30, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20240704123000","author":"Wjemather","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Wjemather-20240704123000-Oogglywoogly-20240704070800","replies":["c-Oogglywoogly-20240708050500-Wjemather-20240704123000"]}}-->
That's an interesting idea. However, many clubs we have pages for have a Scorecard sectipn. It appears that something akin to a precedent has been set. If we are to establish consensus that we should only include championship-level yardages, I would prefer a full discussion on the main talk page.

First off, this is the same person as Oogglywoogly. I recently changed my username to Chief disambiguator.
Secondly, and most importantly, I would like some advice on sandbox. I noticed you use it a lot and figured you could help me out. I recently started a sandbox page under the title "User:Chief disambiguator/sandbox." During research for some golfers profiles, I recently added citations to the page but I'm not sure how to preserve the information. This is crucial because, for two golfers recently, I collected loads of information but my computer acted up and I lost everything. Originally, I was thinking about clicking "Publish Page" in an effort to preserve the information in the sandbox but I didn't because I thought it might also publish the page prematurely. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,

Thanks for the info. Weirdly, well before I even attempted to publish the page of Ron Howell (the guy I was thinking about creating a page for) it was already rejected. Here is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chief_disambiguator/sandbox. Do you know what's up?

I am thinking about purchasing this book. I have seen a citation for this book floating round WP: Golf. For example, see citation #9 under the page of Jimmy Demaret and citation #20 on the page of Gene Sarazen. Specifically, I was thinking about using the book to create seasonal calendars for the early tour era.
However, on the Amazon page for the book there are only two reviews and one of them is negative. I know they're only customer reviews but it's all I have to go off of. Do you know anything about the quality of this book?
Thanks,

Sorry, I don't know much about it. However, "produced with the full cooperation and support of the PGA Tour" would lead me to believe it's not an entirely independent source, so should be used with caution – the PGAoA and PGA Tour have a long history of revisionism. wjematherplease leave a message...09:39, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241218093900","author":"Wjemather","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Wjemather-20241218093900-Chief_disambiguator-20241127212400","replies":["c-Chief_disambiguator-20241230070400-Wjemather-20241218093900"]}}-->
Thanks for the response. If I ever use the book I'll probably consult with you first.

On Gene Sarazen's Wiki site, we most recently had it at 38 wins. According to your sandbox it is at 38 wins too. However, according to his PGA Tour site it is now at 37 wins. Apparently his win at the 1930 Concord Country Club Open no longer counts. Looks like this is at least the fourth time since he retired that his official wins total has changed (and third time since he died!).

The PGA Tour bio page still gives a total of 38 wins at the top but only lists 37 in the details – probably just an omission as I'm sure any intentional reclassification would have been covered somewhere, and I don't know of any such work recently. It's unfortunate that the tour insists on rewriting history and is often unreliable for its own information. wjematherplease leave a message...10:37, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241230103700","author":"Wjemather","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Wjemather-20241230103700-Chief_disambiguator-20241230070200","replies":["c-Chief_disambiguator-20250110071400-Wjemather-20241230103700"]}}-->
Thank you for the response. I guess we should just keep Sarazen's page the way it was before.
Meanwhile, I noticed some more discrepancies. On the Wiki page of Roberto de Vicenzo it notes he won seven PGA Tour events however on his PGA Tour page his 1951 wins are not included. (They are listed in the "Additional Wins" section.) In additon, on the Wiki page of Ed Furgol we list six PGA Tour wins but on his PGA Tour.com page his 1947 win at Pebble Beach isn't included at all. Are these just more examples of them making more mistakes with their record-keeping?
