A few weeks ago a user whose been editing only since April changed the Ernest Bevin quote hyperlinks from Outhouse to Privy Council of the United Kingdom and Pinniped to Privy seal. When I said that removed its point the response was "The preexisting hyperlinks linked to pages that didn't make contextual sense.". Since then I've attempted indicate the quote's meaning, including with videos of the Frost Report sketch and Richard Dawkins explaining the phrase in an interview, but the user continues to believe "Bevin was most certainly not saying that he wasn’t a toilet or a pinniped.". Perhaps you could join the discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lord_Privy_Seal#Ernest_Bevin_anecdote_hyperlinks in an attempt to change his/her mind. Ravenpuff, i am admittedly confused about this edit. what was the reasoning behind it? dying (talk) 05:26, 2 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220802052600","author":"Dying","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Dying-20220802052600-the_world_before_the_flood","replies":["c-Ravenpuff-20220802101600-Dying-20220802052600"]}}-->

@Dying: Sorry, I realise that my edit summary wasn't particularly enlightening! In my experience I've come across "oil-on-canvas painting" more often than "oil painting on canvas" – the former is what I prefer when describing paintings in POTD, at least. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 10:16, 2 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220802101600","author":"Ravenpuff","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Ravenpuff-20220802101600-Dying-20220802052600","replies":["c-Dying-20220803002600-Ravenpuff-20220802101600"],"displayName":"RAVENPVFF"}}-->
oh, that makes sense. admittedly, i think what had contributed to my confusion was the fact that the "oil painting" article appears to cover both paintings on wood and paintings on canvas, so i could not understand why "canvas" was moved into the linked text. thanks for the explanation! dying (talk) 00:26, 3 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220803002600","author":"Dying","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Dying-20220803002600-Ravenpuff-20220802101600","replies":[]}}-->

Hi, Ravenpuff. I'm just posting to let you know that Cardinal electors for the 1978 papal conclaves – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for August 22. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 21:46, 1 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220801214600","author":"Giants2008","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Giants2008-20220801214600-TFL_notification","replies":["c-Ravenpuff-20220810161700-Giants2008-20220801214600"]}}-->

Thanks, Giants2008. Sorry for the delayed reply, but would it be possible to schedule this TFL for the following Friday (August 26) instead? There will be a consistory held on that Saturday, and I was thinking that we could take advantage of this coincidence. No worries if this can't be achieved – I'd still be happy for the list to be run on any day. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 16:17, 10 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220810161700","author":"Ravenpuff","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Ravenpuff-20220810161700-Giants2008-20220801214600","replies":["c-Giants2008-20220810213800-Ravenpuff-20220810161700"],"displayName":"RAVENPVFF"}}-->
Sure, I can move the appearance date back for you. The list currently slated for the 26th isn't a date-relevant list, so it shouldn't be a problem to swap the two lists. I'll do this later tonight. I like your change to no italics for the Missa brevis in C by Brixi. For the next time please explain why. I understand that Missa brevis in C major is a generic name, but is Missa brevis in C also, and if yes why? - How about Missa Brevis (Britten), with a capital B? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:49, 12 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220812114900","author":"Gerda Arendt","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Gerda_Arendt-20220812114900-in_C","replies":["c-Ravenpuff-20220813001300-Gerda_Arendt-20220812114900"]}}-->

@Gerda Arendt: I don't see any substantive difference between " ... in C" versus " ... in C major"; I'd argue that they're both generically titled. There doesn't seem to be a strict rule to determine whether a title is generic. Perhaps a useful rule of thumb could be to ask: could the composition have been titled differently? As I take it, Brixi didn't give his Mass a specific name, so we default to the descriptive/generic "Missa brevis in C [major]", while Britten deliberately decided to name his composition "Missa Brevis", so we put the name in italics as a non-generic title. Do correct me if I'm mistaken! — RAVENPVFF · talk · 00:13, 13 August 2022 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20220813001300","author":"Ravenpuff","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Ravenpuff-20220813001300-Gerda_Arendt-20220812114900","replies":["c-Gerda_Arendt-20220813051700-Ravenpuff-20220813001300"],"displayName":"RAVENPVFF"}}-->
