Template talk:Gopher clients
Although it is not mentioned in its wikipedia article I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Arachne_(web_browser) had some sort of gopher support.
- heah! you're right! on http://www.glennmcc.org/ara-gpl/history.txt (link was in the article) is the full changelog and search for gopher: a light version without gopher, mail, etc. were created --> the normal version has gopher support! mabdul 0=* 19:11, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-09-02T19:11:00.000Z","author":"Mabdul","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Mabdul-2008-09-02T19:11:00.000Z-Arachne","replies":[]}}-->
The great granddaddy of all Gopher software, at the moment no Wikipedia pages exist for either of these and I'm afraid I do not know enough about the development history of them to make it worthwhile me starting any articles. Development on the server ceased long ago but I understand the client is still under active development and can be found in the repositories of many Linux distributions, the client is also Gopher+ compatible.
- read the Minnesota Internet Users Essential Tool (short Minuet) article ;) mabdul 0=* 12:47, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-09-07T12:47:00.000Z","author":"Mabdul","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Mabdul-2008-09-07T12:47:00.000Z-University_of_Minnesota_Gopher_Client_and_Server","replies":[]}}-->
Some more Gopher clients without Wikipedia pages listed over at http://www.yale.edu/pclt/WINWORLD/GOPHER.HTM.
The worlds most complete collection of dedicated Gopher Clients (and Servers) resides on the hal3000 Gopher (which can be reached via the floodgap http proxy):

I do not think Amaya has *ever* had Gopher functionality. Why is it listed here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.209.210.229 (talk) 17:03, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-10-12T17:03:00.000Z","author":"69.209.210.229","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-69.209.210.229-2010-10-12T17:03:00.000Z-Amaya","replies":[]}}-->
