Indian wrestler
Nisha Dahiya is an Indian wrestler from village adiyana district panipat Haryana.[1] She is part of the Indian contingent at the 2024 Summer Olympics at Paris.[2] She is the fifth Indian wrestler to make to Paris.[3]
Career
Dahiya qualified for the Paris Olympics at the World Olympic qualifiers at Istanbul in May 2024. She defeated Romania's Alexandra Anghel in the 68 kg semi-finals to book her Olympic berth.[2]
She competed at the 2021 U23 World Wrestling Championships, winning the bronze medal in the women's freestyle 65 kg event.[4] She competed at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships in the women's freestyle 68 kg event, losing in the bronze medal match.[5] She won a silver medal in the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships.[6]
False news
In November 2021 it was erroneously reported that Dahiya had been killed, after a different wrestler of the same name was shot.[7][8][9]
