The Japanese Society for Bioinformatics (JSBi ) is a Japanese research society on the subjects of bioinformatics and computational biology established in 1999.[ 2] The society is an affiliated regional group of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB),[ 3] and a member of Association of Asian Societies for Bioinformatics (AASBi). Supporting corporate members include the Japanese companies Hitachi , Fujitsu and Shionogi .[ 2] [ 4]
Since 2001, the JSBi and Oxford University Press have awarded the Japanese Society for Bioinformatics Prize for outstanding young scientists in bioinformatics.[ 5] [ 6]
