The IGI Airport Metro Station is a key part of the Delhi Airport Express Line, also known as the Orange Line of the Delhi Metro. It serves as an essential transit hub for passengers traveling to and from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), providing a direct and rapid link between the airport and central Delhi.
Location and Connectivity
The station is situated near Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), offering easy access for both domestic and international travelers. The Airport Express Line has a mix of both underground & elevated metro stations. The Dhaula Kuan Metro Station is elevated & other metro stations on Airport Express Line are underground.
Inauguration and Operations
The station was inaugurated on 23 February 2011.[1]
The fare for traveling on the Delhi Airport Express Line is generally higher than the regular Delhi Metro lines, due to its premium services like faster trains and airport-specific facilities. As of recent data, the fares range approximately from INR 50 to INR 100 for a one-way trip, depending on the distance covered.[2]

The closest Indian Railways station is Shahabad Mohammadpur (SMDP).[3] Also within distance is Palam Railway Station (PM).[4]
