Place in Lower Carniola, Slovenia
Dolenje Skopice (pronounced [dɔˈleːnjɛ skɔˈpiːtsɛ] ; German : Unterskopiz [ 2] ) is a village on the right bank of the Sava River in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia . The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola . It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region .[ 3]
Numerous finds in the ploughed fields around the village, mostly of dressed stone, imbrices, and tegulae , show that the area was settled in Roman times.[ 4]
