The Battle of Urmar Tanda was fought in June 1763 by the Sikh forces led by Jassa Singh Ahluwalia and the Afghan forces led by Bishambar Das.
Event
In the Jalandhar Doab the Sikhs were opposed by Bishambar Das, the diwan of Adina Beg. He assembled an army of about 25,000-30,000 troops and attacked the Sikh.[1][2] A Sikh named Karora Singh decapitated him in battle which made his army retreat.[3][4][5][6]
Aftermath
Jassa Singh Ahluwalia occupied a large number of villages and carved out a small state for himself. Other Sikh sardars also seized land which was once under their control in the Jalandhar Doab.[4]
