The 2005–06 Divizia C was the 50th season of Liga III , the third tier of the Romanian football league system .[ 1] [ 2]

Renamed teams
Avântul Silva Reghin was renamed as Avântul Reghin .
Telecom Arad was renamed as Romtelecom Arad .
Șoimii Vulturu was renamed as Energia Vulturu .
Olimpia Râmnicu Sărat was renamed as CSM Râmnicu Sărat .
Other changes
Prima Guard Alexandria was moved from Alexandria to Zimnicea and renamed as Prima Guard Zimnicea .
Lotus Băile Felix was moved from Băile Felix to Sânmartin, Bihor and renamed as Lotus Sânmartin .
Aurora Târgu Frumos were replaced by Energia Vulturu .
Victoria Muntenii de Jos were replaced by Willy Bacău .
Navol Oltenița were replaced by Gloria ANEFS București .
Tigar Giurgiu were replaced by Steaua II București .
Știința CFR Craiova were replaced by Arsenal Motru .
Minerul Sărmășag were replaced by Știința Cluj-Napoca .
Minerul Bălan were replaced by Predeal .
ASA Târgu-Mureș was dissolved and replaced by Maris Târgu Mureș .
Deva sold its place in the second tier to Corvinul 2005 Hunedoara at the end of the previous season, and took the place of Jimbolia in the third tier. As a result, their satellite Deva II , who were also playing in the third tier, were removed. To fill their spot, Inter Petrila was sparred from relegation.
