The Copa Minas (Minas Cup) - was an interclub tournament for association football clubs from Brazil, organised in 1967 by the football association of the state of Minas Gerais, the Federação Mineira de Futebol.[1][2] Participants were the 1966 state champions of
Atlético Mineiro (BH), as the second strongest side from Belo Horizonte to attract a greater audience.
It was the last of the nine editions of the Torneio Quadrangular de Belo Horizonte (Foursquare Tournament of Belo Horizonte), a friendly interstate tournament started in 1948, also known as the Torneio dos Campeões (Tournament of Champions), according to the RSSSF.[3] On its official website, Bangu lists this achievement as a national title, under the name Copa dos Campeões (Champions Cup).[4]
The matches
Venue of all matches was the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto, commonly known as Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. The first four matches were held in two double features.
