البابا المتقاعد أو الفخري أو الحبر الفخري [1] هو اللقب الذي حمله بندكتس السادس عشر ، بابا الكنيسة الكاثوليكية ، منذ استقالته من منصب الحبر الروماني ، في 28 فبراير 2013 حتى وفاته في 31 ديسمبر 2022. لم يذكر لقب "البابا المتقاعد أو البابا الفخري" في أي تشريع لدى الكنيسة الكاثوليكية. كان بندكت السادس عشر هو البابا الوحيد الذي نال هذا اللقب بعد تنازله عن لقب الباباوية السيادي.[2]

ينص البند 332 §2 من القانون الكنسي الأرثوذكسي (عام 1983) على أن البابا الروماني يمكنه التخلي عن منصبه. لكن لكي يكون التنازل صحيحاً وصالحاً، يلزم أن يفعل ذلك بحرية وعلى النحو الواجب لذلك، كما أنَّه ليس من الضروري قبول أي أحد لطلب التنازل.[3][4][5]

على الرغم من أنه لم يكن أول بابا يستقيل من منصبه، إلا أن البابا بنديكتوس السادس عشر كان في عام 2013 هو البابا الوحيد الذي قدم استقالته وفقًا للقانون 332، الساري منذ عام 1983.[3][6]

اللقب

لا ينص أي تشريع كنسي على لقب "البابا فخري"، لكنه كان مطبقاً على أساقفة روما وهو ما اعتمد عليه بالقياس منذ فترة سيدي فاكانت.[2]
