Distribución d'o autarda. Color verda clara: aria de cria, color verda: aria resident, color azul clara: aria de trasiego, color azul: aria de no cria.

L' autarda (Otis tarda (Linnaeus, 1758)[2]) ye una especie d'au d'a orden d'os Otidiformes y familia Otididae que con un peso de dica 16 kg, ye una d'as aus mas pesadas d'o mundo que puede volar.[3] As autardas grans pueden vivir dica 20 anyadas d'edat.

Se reproduz en feners ubiertos y tierras de cautivo dende lo norte de Marruecos, o sud y centro d'Europa dica as redoladas templadas d'Asia central y oriental. As poblacions europeas son sobretot residents, pero as poblacions asiaticas migran mas a lo sud d'hibierno.

Portugal y Espanya agora tienen arredol d'o 60 % d'a suya población mundial.[4]

Una autarda fembra.

Ye una d'as especies vivas d'aus con un mayor dimorfismo sexual, en termins de grandaria entre masclos y fembras.[5]
