Dr Johann Christoph Pepusch (* 1667 z Berlin; † 20. Juli 1752 z London) isch e dütsche Komponist, Muusiker, Leerer und Muusigwüsseschaftler gsi.

Dr Johann Christoph Pepusch het z Berlin e musikalischi Usbildig überchoo. Mit vierzääni het er e Boste bim Hoof aagfange, won er 1698 kündigt het. Denn isch er uf Amsterdam. 1704 het er sich z London niidergloo, het aber bis öbbe 1718 in Holland publiziert.

In London het dr Pepusch as Bratschist, denn au as Komponist, Theaterdiräkter, Muusigtheoretiker und Organist gschafft. 1710 isch er äine vo de Gründer vo dr „Academy of Ancient Music“ gsi und vo dr Madrigal Society. 1713 het der dr Doktor in Muusig an dr Universidäät Oxford gmacht. In sim Wärkverzäichnis het s Komposizioone vo alle Gattige, vo dr Kammersonate für die underschiidligste Instrumänt über Lieder, Kantate, Sinfonie bis zur Opere. In sine letschte Lääbensjoor het er Alti Muusig studiert.

Im Pepusch si bekanntists Wärk isch „The Beggar's Opera“, wo dr John Gay dr Teggst drfür gschriibe het.
