Walter E. Fernald

Massachusetts School for the Feeble-Minded

Walter E. Fernald ( 1859-1924) adalah seorang pemimpin dalam gerakan untuk perawatan yang humanis pada orang-orang dengan keterbelakangan mental. Dari situ Fernald juga berpengaruh dalam perkembangan menyusun perundang - undangan federal dan negara bagian yang berhubungan dengan keterbelakanagn mental.[1]
