Wali kota Distrik Columbia adalah kepala cabang eksekutif dari pemerintahan Distrik Columbia. Wali kota memiliki tugas untuk menegakkan hukum kota, dan kekuasaan untuk menyetujui atau memveto undang-undang yang disahkan oleh Dewan Distrik Columbia. Selain itu, wali kota memegang seluruh layanan kota, properti umum, kepolisian dan pemadam kebakaran, sebagian besar badan masyarakat, dan sistem sekolah umum di Distrik Columbia.[1] Jabatan wali kota mengurusi biaya kota tahunan sebesar $8.8 miliar.[2]

Kantor Eksekutif wali kota terletak di John A. Wilson Building, pusat kota Distrik Columbia. Wali kota melantik beberapa pejabat, termasuk Deputi-deputi Wali kota untuk Pendidikan dan Perencanaan $ Pembangunan Ekonomi, Pengurus Kota, kepala sekolah-sekolah umum di kota tersebut, Kantor Urusan Latino, dan badan-badan departemen kepala kota.
