Tiroid peroksidase

Tiroid peroksidase (bahasa Inggris: thyroid iodide peroxidase,^[1] thyroid peroxidase, iodide peroxidase, thyroperoxidase, TPO, EC 1.11.1.8) adalah protein yang terglikosilasi dan menempel pada membran plasma apisal tirosit,^[2] serta merupakan enzim yang berperan dalam sintesis hormon tiroid^[3] termasuk hormon T3, dari residu tiroglobulin,^[4] di bawah stimulasi TSH.

TPO membentuk homodimer peka tionamida yang merupakan autoantigen universal pada penyakit Graves dan penyakit autoimunitas lain pada kelenjar tiroid^[5] dengan memicu autoantibodi IgG dengan daya ikat tinggi.^[6] Pada kasus hipertiroidisme, TPO dihambat oleh 6-propyl-2-thiouracil (PTU) atau 1-methyl-2-mercaptoimidazole (MMI).^[1]
