Protein penginteraksi-tioredoksin (bahasa Inggris: Thioredoxin-interacting protein, TXNIP) adalah protein pada manusia yang disandi oleh gen TXNIP^[4]^[5]

Interaksi

TXNIP telah menunjukkan berinteraksi dengan tioredoksin^[6] dan ZBTB32.^[7]

Fungsi

TXNIP memiliki kemampuan menghambat proliferasi sel dan merupakan penekan tumor yang dikenal sering tidak aktif pada kanker. Saat ini terungkap bahwa TXNIP adalah target hilir sinyal IGF-1/IGF-1R, yang mana ekspresi TXNIP menurun dengan perlakuan IGF-1, sesuai dengan model bahwa hilangnya TXNIP bertanggung jawab atas aksi antiapoptosis IGF-1. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kadar TXNIP pada pasien sindrom Laron (LS) mungkin bertanggung jawab atas perlindungan terhadap kanker pada populasi ini dan bahwa TXNIP dapat berfungsi sebagai penanda biologis masa depan yang memungkinkan prediksi respons terhadap penghambatan IGF-1R atau untuk memantau terapi penghambat IGF-1R.^[8]
