Susur sungai

Kegiatan susur sungai dengan tujuan Air Terjun Ubbalamadugu di Distrik Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Susur sungai adalah kegiatan luar ruang untuk menyusuri aliran sebuah sungai. Aktivitas ini biasanya menjadi bagian dari kegiatan luar ruang lainnya seperti pendakian gunung atau susur ngarai. Kegiatan susur sungai dapat berupa berjalan di badan sungai atau dapat berkembang seperti mendaki, memanjat, hingga berenang melintasi sungai.[1] Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengenali ekologi sebuah sungai, melatih seseorang untuk memahami apa saja bahaya yang ada di sungai, serta melatih ketahanan fisik seseorang.[2] Terkait penanggulangan bencana, kegiatan ini juga bermanfaat untuk mengetahui hambatan atau sumbatan yang terdapat pada sungai, sehingga dapat mengurangi risiko banjir bandang yang sewaktu-waktu terjadi di sebuah daerah aliran sungai.[3][4]

Kegiatan ini populer dilakukan di negara-negara Asia seperti Jepang, Taiwan, dan Hong Kong.[5]
