Stephen Decatur Jr. (/dɪˈkeɪtər/;[1] 5 Januari 1779 – 22 Maret 1820) adalah seorang perwira dan komodor angkatan laut Amerika Serikat. Ia dilahirkan di pantai timur Maryland di County Worcester, putra dari seorang perwira angkatan laut AS yang bertugas selama Revolusi Amerika. Ayahnya, Stephen Decatur Sr., adalah seorang komodor pada Angkatan Laut AS, dan membawa Stephen muda ke dunia kapal dan berlayar sejak dini. Tak lama setelah kuliah, Decatur mengikuti jejak ayahnya dan bergabung dengan Angkatan Laut AS pada usia ke-19 sebagai seorang perwira muda.[2][3]
