Matsumura Sōkon (松村 宗棍) adalah salah satu master Karate asli Okinawa. Masa hidup tentang Matsumura Sokon ini bertentangan satu sama lain, ada yang bilang 1809 - 1901, 1798 - 1890, 1809 - 1896, dan 1800 - 1892. Namun, tanggal pada plakat di makam Matsumura, yang diletakkan di sana oleh keluarga Matsumura, dengan jelas menyatakan bahwa ia lahir pada tahun 1809 dan meninggal pada tahun 1899.[3]

Aliran Bela Diri yang dipakai oleh Matsumura Sokon adalah Shuri-Te. Guru dari Matsumura Sokon adah Kanga Sakukawa, Annan, dan Iwah.

Murid - murid penting yang dihasilkan oleh Matsumura Sokon ialah Ankō Asato, Ankō Itosu, Motobu Chōyū, Motobu Chōki, Kentsu Yabu, Nabe Matsumura, Chōtoku Kyan, dan Gichin Funakoshi.
