Sidang Umum Biasa Keenam Belas Sinode Para Uskup

Sidang Umum Biasa Sinode Para Uskup ke-16, biasa disebut dengan sinode tentang sinodalitas,[1] adalah sinode para uskup dalam Gereja Katolik yang sedang berlangsung dan yang akan berakhir pada bulan Oktober 2024, bertema "Untuk Gereja sinodal: persekutuan, partisipasi dan misi".[2] Peristiwa ini secara luas digambarkan sebagai puncak dari Kepausan Paus Fransiskus dan peristiwa terpenting dalam Gereja sejak Konsili Vatikan Kedua.[3][4]

Tanggal sinode pertama kali diumumkan pada Oktober 2022,[5] namun kemudian diubah menjadi Oktober 2023 karena cakupan sinode diperluas.[2][6] Perpanjangan lebih lanjut diumumkan pada bulan Oktober 2022, dengan tanggal penutupan menjadi Oktober 2024.[7]

Daftar seluruh 364 peserta dipublikasikan pada 7 Juli 2023.[8]

Menjelang sidang sinode pada bulan Oktober 2023, Paus Fransiskus mengeluarkan anjuran apostolik Laudate Deum, yang di dalamnya ia menyerukan tindakan cepat terhadap krisis iklim dan mengutuk penolakan perubahan iklim.[9][10]
