Shamita Shetty[3] (lahir 2 Februari 1979)[1][2] adalah seorang aktris dan desainer asal India. Dia melakukan debut aktingnya dalam film Mohabbatein (2000).

Masa muda

Shetty lahir dari salah satu keluarga komunitas Bunt yang berbahasa Tulu, di Mangalore.[4] Ayahnya (Surendra) dan ibunya (Sunanda) adalah produsen tutup air anti rusak di industri farmasi. Dia adalah saudara perempuan Shilpa Shetty.[5]

Dia menyelesaikan sekolahnya di St. Anthony's Girls' High School, Mumbai.[6] Setelah menyelesaikan gelarnya di bidang perdagangan dari perguruan tinggi Sydenham, Shetty mengejar diploma desain busana di SNDT College, Mumbai. Kemudian dia memulai magangnya dengan merancang busana untuk Manish Malhotra. Manish melihat bakat dalam karya Shetty dan menyarankan untuk mempersiapkannya sebagai busana karir aktingnya. Pada tahun 2011, Shetty memutuskan untuk menekuni passion-nya di bidang desain interior.[7] Proyek solo pertamanya adalah Royalti, sebuah klub di Mumbai.[8] Belakangan, kecintaannya pada desain interior mendorongnya untuk mengambil diploma di Central Saint Martins dan Inchbald School of Design di London.[9]
