Rangkaian tenaga mobil modern, terdiri dari mesin (dengan sistem pembuangan), transmisi, poros penggerak, suspensi dan roda.

Dalam kendaraan bermotor, rangkaian tenaga (powertrain) terdiri dari komponen utama yang menghasilkan tenaga dan mengirimkannya ke permukaan jalan, air, atau udara. Ini termasuk mesin, transmisi, poros penggerak, diferensial, dan final drive (roda penggerak, roda rantai seperti pada tank atau traktor, baling-baling, dll.). Baru-baru ini di rangkaian tenaga hibrida, motor listrik dan algoritma kontrol juga terlihat sebagai elemen rangkaian tenaga.
