Prasasti Sungai Mas I merupakan sebuah prasasti yang ditemui di Kampung Sungai Mas di daerah Kuala Muda, Kedah yang bertarikh 592 Masehi. Prasasti Sungai Mas I berukuran 416mm panjang dan lebar 230mm di bagian atasnya dan 257mm di bagian kiri. Prasasti ini ditemukan oleh Encik Ariffin Bin Ibrahim sekitar tahun 1980-an.

Prasasti Sungai Mas I ditulis dalam skrip Pallava, dalam bahasa Sanskrit. [1]

Sekarang ada di Muzium Arkeologi Lembah Bujang, Merbok, Malaysia.

Barisan satu: ajñānāc=(c)īyate karmma janmanaḥ karmma kāra(ṇaṃ)

Barisan kedua: janmanaḥ karmma kāra(ṇaṃ) karmmā bhā(van na ja)ya te

Terjemahan:

Daripada kejahilan, karma terkumpul, dan penyebab kepada kelahiran semula adalah karma

Dengan ilmu, karma akan terkumpul, tanpa karma, seseorang tidak akan dilahirkan semula
