Poros tambang yang ditinggalkan di Marl, Jerman.

Poros tambang adalah ekskavasi terowongan vertikal atau semi-vertikal dari atas ke bawah, di tempat yang pada awalnya tiada akses ke bawah.[1] Poros dangkal, yang biasanya dibuat dalam proyek-proyek teknik sipil, sangat berbeda dalam hal metode eksekusi ketimbang poros dalam, yang biasanya dibuat dalam proyek-proyek pertambangan.
