Contoh tumbuhan perdu

Perdu adalah tumbuhan berkayu yang bercabang-cabang, tumbuh rendah dekat dengan permukaan tanah, dan tidak mempunyai batang yang tegak.[1] Perdu juga merupakan nama sekelompok pohon yang memiliki ketinggian di bawah 6 meter (20 kaki). Perdu umumnya tumbuh berkelompok. Ciri-ciri dari tanaman perdu biasanya kecil, rendah, meskipun batangnya panjang. Perdu adalah tumbuhan berumur panjang yang berkayu, bercabang banyak, tapi batang utamanya kurang jelas. Beberapa tanaman hias dapat dikategorikan sebagai perdu, seperti lavender, mawar, dan bunga kertas (Bougainvillea).[2]

Beberapa perdu yang cukup mudah ditemukan antara lain jenis Octhocharis, Sauropus, Ficus, melastoma, chombrataceae, dan Cassia.[3]
