Pendulangan Intan Cempaka

Pendulangan Intan Cempaka adalah lokasi pendulangan batu intan dan emas yang diolah secara tradisional yang berada di kecamatan Cempaka, Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. Lokasi ini hanya berjarak sekitar 47 km dari Banjarmasin, atau sekitar 7 km dari pusat kota Banjarbaru.[1]

Lokasi Pendulangan

Lokasi mendulang ini kebanyakan berada di Sungai Tiung dengan dua titik yang paling terkenal, yakni Pumpung dan Ujung Murung. Para pendulang masih menggunakan cara tradisional untuk menyisihkan batu mulia dari pasir atau lumpur sungai.

Lokasi yang menjadi tempat mendulang bisa mencapai kedalaman 15 meter. Para pendulang bisa menghabiskan waktu seharian di sana dengan mengandalkan alat yang disebut linggangan, berbentuk kerucut seperti caping terbalik dan terbuat dari kayu. Untuk mengambil air dan mencuci hasil temuan digunakan pompa air listrik.

Pendulang biasanya bekerja dalam kelompok terdiri dari dari 10 sampai 15 orang.

Yang menarik adalah adanya tabu tertentu menurut kepercayaan masyarakat lokal dalam mendulang intan di Cempaka, yaitu tabu bagi mereka menyebutkan kata "intan" atau "berlian". Penyebutan kata intan atau berlian dipercaya akan mendorong batu mulia pergi. Oleh karenanya, mereka menyebutnya dengan sebutan "galuh".[1]
