Newell C Kephart


Newell C Kephart, lahir tahun 1911 dan meninggal tahun 1973, adalah seorang Ahli Kesehatan Jiwa di Wayne County, Michigan, Traning School dan Analis Penelitian untuk US Employment Service sebelum masuk dinas angkatan laut pada Perang Dunia II.

Pada tahun 1946 ia masuk Universitas Purdue dan menjadi profesor psikologi dan pendidikan. Di sana ia menjalankan Achievement Center for Children, sebuah pusat penelitian dan perawatan untuk anak-anak difabel.

Kephart berjasa menyumbangkan gagasan-gagasan mengenai gerakan latihan motorik pada tahun 1960an. Setelah berhenti dari Universitas Purdue pada tahun 1960an, ia beralih progesi menjadi Direktur Glen Haven Achievement Center di Fort Collins, Coloradi hingga meninggal.
