Medali Linnean dari Linnean Society of London didirikan pada 1888, dan diberikan secara tahunan kepada seorang botanis atau seorang zoologis atau (secara umum sejak tahun 1958) kepada keduanya pada tahun yang sama. Medali tersebut berwarna emas sampai tahun 1976, dan pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya sering disebut sebagai "Medali Emas Perhimpunan Linnean", yang tidak ada hubungannya dengan Medali Emas Linnean.[1][2]
