Kadipaten Agung Luxembourg adalah anggota carter Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa dan menjabat sebagai salah satu dari sepuluh anggota non-permanen Dewan Keamanan PBB (2013–2014).

Sebuah delegasi dari Luxembourg yang dikepalai oleh Joseph Bech, Menteri Urusan Luar Negeri,[1] menghadiri Konferensi San Francisco dan menandatangani Piagam PBB pada 26 Juni 1945, menjadikannya negara anggota pendiri terkecil dari PBB.[2] Pada 1975, Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Urusan Luar Negeri, Gaston Thorn, memimpin sesi ke-30 Majelis Umum.[2]
