Liga Suci (1684)

Liga Suci (Latin: Sacra Ligua) tahun 1684 adalah sebuah persekutuan yang didirikan oleh Paus Innosensius XI untuk melawan Kesultanan Utsmaniyah selama Perang Turki Raya. Pada awalnya anggota-anggota liga ini adalah Negara Gereja, Kekaisaran Romawi Suci di bawah kepemimpinan Kaisar Leopold I, Persemakmuran Polandia-Lituania di bawah kepemimpinan Jan III Sobieski dan Republik Venesia. Ketsaran Rusia turut bergabung dengan liga ini pada tahun 1686. Persekutuan ini berdiri hingga perang diakhiri oleh Perjanjian Karlowitz pada tahun 1699.[1][2][3]

Paus Innosensius dibantu oleh Frater Kapusin Marco d'Aviano selama pembentukan liga ini, dan sang Frater juga berperan penting dalam pertempuran di Wina.[4]
