Lari virtual


Lari virtual adalah kegiatan lari yang bisa dilakukan dimana saja dan kapan saja. Kegiatan ini bisa dilakukan di lintasan lari, taman dekat rumah, jalanan yang aman untuk berlari ataupun treadmill.[1] Peserta bisa lari sendiri ataupun bersama pelari-pelari lain. Waktu lari bisa disesuaikan dengan waktu pelari sendiri sepanjang batas waktu yang disediakan penyelenggara kegiatan lari virtual. Hasil lari akan terrekam dalam aplikasi lari. Alat pendukung yang dibutuhkan adalah ponsel cerdas dan terkadang, smartwatch. Jika telah selesai menempuh jarak yang diharuskan oleh penyelenggara, pelari harus submit hasil lari melalui aplikasi atau email. Kemudian, jika penyelenggara menyediakan medali dan paket lomba lari maka akan dikirim ke alamat yang terdaftar pada saat registrasi peserta lomba.

Lari virtual ini semakin marak diselenggarakan sejak pandemi Covid-19.[2] Jarak yang ditempuh antara 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, dan 42 km.

Kegiatan ini diminati karena penyelenggarannya fleksible. Bisa diikuti oleh siapa saja dan darimana saja. Tidak terbatas untuk area tertentu. Aktivitas pelari juga bisa menyesuaikan dengan waktu yang dimilikinya, tidak harus berkumpul di area tertentu dalam satu waktu yang sama. Karena itu, lari virtual dapat menghemat biaya yang diperlukan untuk berlari karena dilakukan di area yang dekat dengan pelari masing-masing.

Lari virtual juga banyak diikuti sebagai sarana latihan untuk kegiatan lari bagi pelari pemula, eksistensi komunitas lari dan kegiatan untuk mendapatkan medali bagi kolektor medali lari.
