Kerupuk karak

Kerupuk karak merupakan kerupuk dari Karanganyar yang bahan pembuatnya berasal dari nasi.[butuh rujukan] Bahan utama pembuatan kerupuk karak adalah nasi yang sudah dikukus bersama bumbu, seperti bawang putih dan garam. Setelah dikukus, nasi ditumbuk sampai halus, kemudian nasi yang telah dihaluskan dicetak tipis-tipis dan dijemur hingga kering. Setelah kering, kerupuk karak mentah digoreng sampai garing dengan api kecil. Kerupuk karak umumnya dijadikan lauk saat makan atau camilan sehari-hari.[1]

Kerupuk karak kabarnya diciptakan pada masa penjajahan Jepang.[butuh rujukan] Kala itu, Mbah Sastro dari Bratan yang kini dikenal sebagai sentra karak Solo menyayangkan melihat nasi yang tidak habis yang dibuang begitu saja.[butuh rujukan] Ia kemudian mengolah sisa nasi tersebut menjadi kerupuk karak.
