Park Ji-hyo (Hangul: 박지효, lahir 1 Februari 1997) atau lebih dikenal sebagai Jihyo, adalah seorang penyanyi dan anggota dari grup vokal wanita Korea Selatan, Twice yang dibentuk oleh JYP Entertainment. Sebagai vokalis utama di dalam grup, ia dikenal karena memiliki suara yang kuat, kemampuan menari, dan karismanya.[1] Jihyo juga merupakan pemimpin dari Twice.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Kehidupan awal

Jihyo dilahirkan pada tanggal 1 Februari 1997[7] di Guri, Provinsi Gyeonggi, Korea Selatan.[8] Nama lahirnya adalah Park Ji-soo.[4]

Sixteen dan debut bersama Twice

Jihyo bergabung dengan JYP Entertainment sebagai seorang trainee pada usia delapan tahun dan berlatih selama sepuluh tahun sebelum melakukan debutnya.[4][6] JYP Entertainment telah memantau Jihyo setelah dia berpartisipasi dalam sebuah kontes yang diadakan oleh Junior Naver dan menduduki peringkat kedua.[4] Jihyo menghabiskan sepuluh tahun sebagai trainee sebelum debut bersama Twice pada tahun 2015.[1][4] Selama masa pelatihannya sebagai trainee, Jihyo dikenal sebagai sosok yang mewakili lini remaja Innisfree bersama grup idola pria Boyfriend. Ia berlatih dengan banyak idola asal JYP termasuk Sunmi, Bae Suzy, Jo Kwon, dan Nichkhun.[4] Jihyo direncanakan untuk debut dalam sebuah grup idola wanita bersama dengan Nayeon, Jeongyeon dan Sana, tetapi proyek tersebut dibatalkan.[4] Sebagai gantinya, mereka semua ikut serta dalam sebuah acara realitas televisi bertajuk Sixteen, suatu kompetisi yang digelar untuk menentukan anggota Twice.[9] Jihyo secara resmi mengubah namanya menjadi Park Ji-hyo sebelum kompetisi dimulai.[4] Sebagai salah satu dari sembilan peserta yang menjadi pemenang, dia bergabung dengan grup idola wanita Twice yang baru dibentuk.[1] Pada bulan Oktober 2015, Twice secara resmi debut dengan perilisan album mini mereka yang berjudul The Story Begins.[10] Singel utama bertajuk "Like Ooh-Ahh" merupakan lagu debut K-pop pertama yang meraih 100 juta tayangan di YouTube.[11] Meskipun bukan merupakan anggota tertua di Twice, Jihyo dipilih oleh rekan-rekannya sebagai leader (pemimpin) mereka.[4]

Kehidupan pribadi

Pada bulan Agustus 2019, agensi yang mewakili Jihyo dan Kang Daniel, mantan anggota Wanna One, memastikan bahwa mereka berdua sedang berkencan.[12][13][14][15] Setelah kabar tersebut muncul, Jihyo dan Daniel memuncaki daftar tren Twitter di Filipina.[14][16] Mereka dianggap sebagai "power couple" K-pop yang baru oleh media.[12][17] Pada November 2020, JYP Entertainment mengonfirmasi bahwa pasangan itu putus karena jadwal yang padat.[18]
