Hari Catur Internasional ialah hari internasional yang dirayakan setiap tahun pada 20 Juli, sehari setelah Federasi Catur Dunia (FIDE) didirikan, pada tahun 1924.

Gagasan untuk merayakan hari ini sebagai hari catur internasional diusulkan oleh UNESCO, dan telah dirayakan sejak tahun 1966,[1] setelah ditetapkan oleh Federasi Catur Dunia. Federasi yang memiliki 181 federasi catur sebagai anggotanya,[2] menyelenggarakan acara dan pertandingan catur di seluruh dunia pada hari ini. Baru-baru ini pada tahun 2013, hari catur internasional dirayakan di 178 negara, menurut Presiden Federasi Catur Dunia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.[3] Pada 12 Desember 2019, Majelis Umum PBB dengan suara bulat menyetujui resolusi yang mengakui hari ini.[4]

Hari ini dirayakan oleh banyak dari 605 juta pemain catur tetap di seluruh dunia.[5][6] Sebuah jajak pendapat Yougov 2012 menunjukkan bahwa "70% populasi orang dewasa yang stabil secara mengejutkan telah bermain catur pada suatu waktu selama hidup mereka".[5] Jumlah ini berada pada tingkat yang hampir sama di negara-negara yang beragam seperti Amerika Serikat, Britania Raya, Jerman, Rusia, dan India.[5]
