Fuji T-7

Fuji T-7 (sebelumnya T-3 Kai) adalah pesawat pelatih utama Jepang dibangun oleh Fuji Heavy Industries untuk Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Sebuah pengembangan Fuji sebelumnya pelatih T-3, itu adalah monoplane bermesin tunggal didukung oleh mesin turboprop.

Fuji T-7 dikembangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan Udara Angkatan Pertahanan Diri Jepang untuk pelatih primer atau dasar untuk menggantikan Fuji T-3. Pesawat yang dihasilkan adalah versi modifikasi dari T-3, (sendiri turun melalui Fuji KM-2 dari Beech T-34) dan berbagi layout monoplane rendah bersayap bermesin tunggal T-3, tapi mesin piston Lycoming diganti dengan mesin turboprop Allison 250.

T-7 dipilih dalam preferensi untuk Pilatus PC-7 pada tahun 1998, tetapi keputusan ini dibatalkan dan kompetisi dimulai kembali setelah skandal korupsi muncul, dengan beberapa manajer dari Fuji ditangkap karena menyuap seorang pejabat berkuasa di Partai Demokrat Liberal Jepang.

Fuji kembali masuk T-7 ( kemudian dikenal sebagai T-3 Kai) dan lagi memenangkan kompetisi dimulai kembali pada bulan September 2000, pesawat produksi pertama diserahkan pada bulan September 2002.
