Frederik 's Jacob

Frederik s'Jacob (25 Februari 1822 – 3 April 1901) adalah seorang Gubernur-Jenderal Hindia Belanda.

Frederik s'Jacob adalah anak ke-4 (dari 6 bersaudara) Frederik Bernard s'Jacob, anggota Tweede Kamer yang beraliran konservatif. Adik Frederik, Eduard Herman adalah Gubernur Utrecht antara tahun 1882-1888. Adiknya lain, Willem Hugo s'Jacob, adalah ayah mertua Gerard Anton van Hamel (pengacara Belanda) dan Bernard Cornelis Johannes Loder (ketua pertama Mahkamah Tetap Internasional).

S'Jacob menjadi GubJend. dari tanggal 12 April 1881 sampai tanggal 20 Januari 1884.

Masa pemerintahannya antara lain ditandai oleh bencana alam, terutama meletusnya Gunung Krakatau pada tanggal 27 Agustus 1883. Peristiwa ini menewaskan 36.000 jiwa. Selain itu juga menyebar wabah kolera di Jawa.

Jasa-jasanya antara lain adalah perluasan jaringan rel kereta api dan memperkenalkan telepon ke Hindia Belanda.

Akibat perpanjangan konsesi yang diberikannya kepada Bilitonmaatschappij, dan direstui oleh Menteri Jajahan Belanda Willem Maurits de Brauw, ia menuai kritik dari Tweede Kamer, yang mengakibatkan ia dan sang menteri mengundurkan diri.

Frederik s'Jacob menikah dengan Leonie Susanne Charlotte van Hogendorp, puteri C.S.W. van Hogendorp. Dari pernikahan itu, mereka memiliki 2 putera bernama Frederik Bernard s'Jacob, dinamai menurut kakeknya, dan juga Bernard s'Jacob (ayah mertua Tine s'Jacob-des Bouvrie, Walikota Leersum).
