Fasia gerota

Fasia Gerota merupakan jaringan lemak yang membungkus ginjal dan kelejar adrenal. Fasia ini berfungsi sebagai pembatas yang menghambat meluasnya pendarahan dari parenkim ginjal serta mencegah ekstravasasi urin pada saat terjadi trauma ginjal. Selain itu ia dapat pula berfungsi sebagai pembatas dalam menghambat penyebaran infeksi atau penyebaran tumor ginjal ke organ sekitar. Di luar fasia ini terdapat jaringan lemak retroperitoneal yang disebut pararenal.[1]
