Emilia Scaura

Aemilia Scaura (skt. 100 SM – 82 SM) merupakan putri bangsawan Marcus Aemilius Scaurus, dan istri keduanya Caecilia Metella Dalmatica.

Pada saat kelahirannya, Scaurus berusia sekitar 70 tahun dan, saat princeps senatus, pembicara Senat, adalah salah satu politisi terpenting di Roma. Setelah kematian ayahandanya, Caecilia Metella menikah dengan Lucius Cornelius Sulla. Aemilia menikah dengan Manius Acilius Glabrio, dan dia hamil. Plutarch menulis bahwa ketika Sulla ditunjuk menjadi diktator, dia mengagumi Pompeius dengan kualitas tinggi dan menganggapnya sangat membantu dalam urusan pemerintahannya, dia sangat ingin menggabungkan dirinya dengan aliansi pernikahan. Istrinya Metella berbagi keinginannya, dan bersama-sama mereka membujuk Pompeius untuk menceraikan Antistia dan menikahi Aemilia." [1] Pernikahan itu tragis, "wanita muda itu meninggal saat melahirkan di rumah Pompeius." [2] Plutarkhos berkomentar bahwa "pernikahan ini oleh karena itu merupakan karakteristik tirani, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan Sulla daripada sifat dan kebiasaan Pompeius..." [3]
