Dominic James Howard (lahir 7 Desember 1977) adalah drummer grup musik asal Inggris, Muse. Dia juga berkontribusi untuk synthesizer dan elemen elektronik dalam musik mereka.

Kehidupan awal

Ia lahir di Stockport,[1] tidak jauh dari Manchester. Saat usia 8-9 tahun, ia pindah dengan keluarganya ke Teignmouth, sebuah kota kecil di Devon. Dia hanya bermain satu alat musik dalam band yaitu drum. Dia mulai belajar bermain drum pada usia 11 tahun, ketika ia terpukau oleh penampilan band jazz di sekolah. Dia juga bisa bermain gitar walau sedikit. Dia juga mencoba keyboard elektronik kakaknya pada usia 5 tahun.

Kehidupan pribadi

Pada tahun 2004, ayah Howard, William Howard, datang untuk menonton Muse di Festival Glastonbury. Beberapa saat setelah mereka selesai, William meninggal karena serangan jantung. Band kemudian membatalkan konser lainnya termasuk tur Italia. Band juga merilis sebuah pernyataan "Dalam masa yang sangat sulit, kami meminta agar privasi keluarga dan teman-teman Dom dihormati".

Dalam sebuah sesi di mana ia dan Bellamy menjawab pertanyaan dari penggemar, Howard menyatakan bahwa artis yang, masih hidup atau sudah meninggal, yang sangat ingin ditemui adalah Jimi Hendrix.[2] Howard adalah seorang kidal.

Pada tanggal 26 September 2008, Howard, bersama dengan Bellamy dan Wolstenholme, dianugerahi Honorary Doctorate of Arts dari Universitas Plymouth.[3]
