Demonstrasi Shahbag 2013, yang dikaitkan dengan wilayah Shahbag di Dhaka, Bangladesh, dimulai pada tanggal 5 Februari 2013 dan nantinya menyebar ke wilayah lain. Tujuan dari demonstrasi ini adalah meminta hukuman mati untuk Abdul Quader Mollah dan orang lain yang didakwa melakukan kejahatan terhadap kemanusiaan selama Perang Kemerdekaan Bangladesh.[6][7] Kemudian, muncul tuntutan untuk melarang partai Jamaat-e-Islami, partai Islam yang dipimpin oleh tokoh yang didakwa melakukan genosida dan kejahatan perang, dan untuk memboikot institusi yang mendukung atau terkait dengan Jamaat-e-Islami.[8]
