Conatus

Dalam filosofi awal psikologi dan metafisika, conatus (/koʊˈneɪtəs/; bahasa Latin untuk "usaha; dorongan, kecenderungan; usaha; berjuang") adalah kecenderungan bawaan untuk terus ada dan meningkatkan dirinya sendiri.[1] "Conatus" ini bisa berupa pikiran, materi, atau kombinasi keduanya. Selama ribuan tahun, banyak definisi dan perlakuan yang berbeda telah dirumuskan, termasuk filsuf abad ketujuh belas René Descartes, Baruch Spinoza, Gottfried Leibniz, dan Thomas Hobbes yang telah memberikan kontribusi signifikan.
