Cobra Mist

Cobra Mist adalah sebuah codename untuk stasiun radar eksperimental Anglo-Amerika over-the-horizon di Orford Ness, Suffolk, Inggris (referensi jaringan TM450511).

Diketahui secara teknis sebagai AN/FPS-95 dan kadang-kadang disebut sebagai Sistem 441a, referensi untuk proyek secara keseluruhan. Cobra Mist adalah bagian dari sejumlah kecil radar pengawasan "Cobra" jarak jauh yang dioperasikan oleh AS.

Awalnya ditujukan untuk dipasang di Turki dan menawarkan cakupan sebagian besar wilayah udara Soviet di Eropa, ketika Turki keberatan ke situs itu dipindahkan ke Inggris dan berlokasi untuk menawarkan pemandangan sebagian besar Eropa barat. Dibangun melalui akhir 1960-an dan ke 1970, ketika sistem pertama kali dihidupkan terbukti akan terganggu oleh masalah kebisingan yang tidak dapat diidentifikasi dan proyek ditutup pada tahun 1973.

Situs dan bangunan kini ditempati oleh stasiun pemancar radio yang digunakan terutama untuk BBC World Service hingga 2011.
