Asal Bapak Senang

Asal Bapak Senang atau ABS adalah sebuah sebutan yang mula-mula dipakai untuk menyebut sebuah grup musik yang terdiri dari sejumlah anggota DKP (Detasemen Kawal Pribadi) yang dipimpin Mayor Polisi Iskandar Winata. Grup musik tersebut dibentuk oleh Komandan Mangil Martowidjojo[1] untuk memberikan hiburan kepada Presiden Indonesia Sukarno saat mengiringinya menari lenso atau cha cha.[2]

Grup musik tersebut juga memberikan hiburan saat Ahmad Yani didatangi oleh Sukarno saat Ahmad Yani diangkat menjadi Panglima Angkatan Darat.[3] Sukarno sendiri hanya mengetahui nama grup musik tersebut dengan singkatannya, ABS, tanpa mengetahui kepanjangannya, dan lebih sering menyebut grup musik tersebut dengan sebutan Brul Apen yang artinya "monyet-monyet yang terus mengerang dan cecowetan tiada henti".[4]

Seiring berjalannya waktu, sebutan Asal Bapak Senang dijadikan sebagai idiom politik untuk menyebut bawahan yang hanya menginginkan atasannya menjadi senang.[5][6]
