Arne

Dalam mitologi Yunani, Arne (Ἄρνη) atau Melanippe (Μελανίππη) adalah anak dari Aiolos dan Melanippe (juga dikenal sebagai Hippe atau Euippe), anak Khiron. Arne dilahirkan sebagai seekor anak kuda karena ketika itu ibunya sedang menyamar menjadi kuda tetapi dikembalikan menjadi manusia. Aiolos mempercayakannya untuk diasuh oleh salah satu Desmontes. Suatu hari Poseidon menyamar sebagi banteng dan memperkosa Arne sampai Arne melahirkan anak kembar yang diberi nama Aiolos dan Boeotus. Hal ini membuat Desmontes marah dan membutakan mata Arne. Selain itu Desmontes juga membuang kedua anaknya ke Gunung Pelion. Arne kemudian diselamatkan oleh kedua anaknya dan dinikahkan dengan raja Metapontus darif Ikaria. Poseidon juga mengembalikan penglihantannya.[1]
